The Telematics team at Schneider is responsible for the workflow, navigation, and compliance tools used by our drivers. This is currently accomplished using a custom software solution running on an Android tablet issued to each driver.
While the core of our solution will no longer be custom software, all of the integrations and a few specific applications will remain in house and need to be migrated. We are looking for two roles to supplement the existing team for the duration of the project and possibly beyond.
Sr Android Developer – This individual will be one of the primary developers and subject matter experts for Android applications at Schneider. They will work with solution analysts and members of leadership to understand requirements, design solutions, and lead the implementation. Their role is not to simply implement tasks as assigned – they are expected to take an active role in defining best practices for application development both on the telematics team and at Schneider as a whole.
While we are specifically looking for Android experience with this role, we are a full stack team. A willingness and ability to contribute as a developer in other technologies is required for us to effectively balance workload and priorities.
Prior experience as a lead or sole developer on complex Android applications is a requirement.
