Job Description

Position Summary:

As a collaborating member of the Emerald Psychiatry and TMS Center leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer is responsible for ensuring effective management of operations to support delivery of quality behavioral health care and service to patients. The COO is responsible for establishing operational excellence and transformational activities that incorporate best practices in clinical and operational areas, improving patient/guest experiences, enhancing patient/physician and staff satisfaction, and fostering positive provider engagement and relationships, to enhance operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee one or more departments to ensure efficient operations and the delivery of high-quality services
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives, including regulatory compliance and quality improvement efforts
  • Lead departmental staff, including recruitment, development, training, performance management, and communication, to ensure optimal team performance and operational efficiency
  • Review operations on an ongoing basis, and benchmark services against rigorous national standards
  • Develop new operational programs as needs emerge and as growth demands, in order to enhance market share and sustain financial growth
  • Provide leadership and support to efforts underway to address the challenges of the increasing demands of efficient operations, putting into place people, processes, behaviors, and structures that will significantly enhance efficiencies and improve safety throughout the organization
  • Assist in budget management, ensuring departments operate within financial limits.
  • Analyze operational processes to align with business objectives and meet patient care needs.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled touch bases with team members to prioritize tasks and provider timely communication
  • Attend all required meetings and collaborate with Emerald Psychiatry Leadership Team members
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the CEO

 

 

Position Requirements:

Experience

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 10+ years working healthcare administrative operations or related healthcare experience
  • Must be organized and able to manage multiple diverse departments. Must be detail oriented, focused on nuances of multiple organizational operations, balanced with ability to see whole the clinical and organizational picture, and makes sound administrative judgments and decisions and appropriately manage communication with employees and vendors.
  • Must have knowledge in medical insurances and benefit verifications, medical procedures, medical terminology, mental health patient pipeline, and an understanding of the patient pipeline
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Medical Practice Management, Electronic Health Records, and Patient Engagement experience is require
  • Ability to learn new software and cross train in multiple areas within the office is required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check including maintaining a safe driving record is required

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration or related degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Current CPR certification or ability to complete certification within 6 months of employment is required
