Job Description

Summary: Provide essential patient care by assisting with daily activities and monitoring patient conditions. Maintain a clean and well-stocked patient environment while supporting nursing staff in delivering quality care.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, either directly or by notifying appropriate personnel.
• Support nursing care plans by performing delegated tasks.
• Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Manage medication and supply retrieval for patient care.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
• Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Nursing Assistant certification mandatory. Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry required.

Experience: No prior experience necessary.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read and write English. Flexibility in work tasks and schedules. Basic computer proficiency. Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations. Ability to learn new skills quickly.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work variable shifts with frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning. Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation. Exposure to blood and body fluids possible.

Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association and Nursing Assistant certification required.
