Job Description

Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I, providing essential patient care in a dynamic medical surgical unit. This per diem, variable shift role offers the opportunity to support patient admissions, assist with nursing care plans, and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or reporting to appropriate staff.
  • Support nursing care plans by performing delegated patient care tasks.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain a well-stocked and clean patient environment.
  • Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
  • Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
  • Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
Education and Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
Experience and Skills
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under supervision within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new techniques.
  • Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work variable shifts including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Capability to turn and lift patients safely.
