Barakat + Bossa, a Chambers-ranked business law firm based in Coral Gables, Florida, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our litigation team in Jacksonville. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex commercial disputes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience with corporate employment and labor matters is highly desired.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Commercial Litigation Attorney at Barakat + Bossa, you will represent business clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, partnership disputes, business torts, and employment-related litigation. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate with a strategic mindset, capable of managing cases from intake through trial or resolution. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle all aspects of business litigation, including client counseling, case strategy, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation forums.
• Analyze legal issues and prepare high-quality legal memoranda, briefs, and case evaluations.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and communicate effectively with clients about litigation risks and outcomes.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure effective and efficient case management.
• Stay current on litigation trends, case law developments, and procedural rules.
• Support mentoring and training of junior attorneys and legal staff when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
• 4–6 years of commercial litigation experience at a reputable law firm.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial litigation; employment/labor litigation experience is a significant plus.
• Florida Bar Board Certification in Business Litigation and/or Labor & Employment Law a plus.
• Exceptional legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy.
• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite/Teams.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus.
