Camp Run-A-Mutt Gainesville is hiring Part-time and Full-Time daytime and overnight Dog Daycare Attendants.

The main job of the Yard Attendant is to be the “Alpha Dog” of the pack. The yard attendant maintains the well-being, health, safety, and control of all dogs in Camp Run-A-Mutt's care while being the dogs best friend, security and protector.

Yard Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Monitoring dogs
• Learning all dogs' names
• Disciplining dogs with kindness, understanding and distraction
• Identifying why a dog may need discipline
• Treating all dogs equally and like your own
• Clean up dog messes immediately/noting anything abnormal
• Maintaining laundry, facilities, supplies and water bowls
• Being aware of hazards (sharp objects, electric cords, etc.)
• Cleaning yard and boarding area
• Assisting staff for clean-up, dog control, etc.
• Greeting dogs entering the yard by name
• Rounding up dogs that are leaving or getting groomed
• Saying good-bye to dogs leaving by name
• Assisting in feeding of dogs for breakfast, lunch or dinner
• Assisting in giving medication or temperament testing
• Assisting the groomer or front desk when asked
• Cleaning and sanitizing feeding bowls
• Assisting in “end of day” clean up
• Spraying/sanitizing the yard
• Emptying and sanitizing trash cans
• Sanitizing dog beds and water bowls, etc.
• Essential Qualities Needed:
• Be good with dogs of all size
• As the alpha dog, be calm and relaxed
• Stay focused and attentive for your entire shift
• Be able to be moving on your feet for 90% of your shift
• Be comfortable stooping and bending to corral and redirect dogs
• Be ok with exposure to all of the elements from sunny to rainy
• Lift up to 25 pounds
• Be able to physically restrain a dog up to 100 pounds by yourself
• Have a positive attitude at all times
• Be able to remember all dog names
• Be able to work without cell phone access for your entire shift
