Electrical Technician

Job Description

Join our team as an Electrical Technician responsible for conducting electrical preventative and reactive maintenance on all production machinery. You will work on a variety of equipment, including sauce applicators, topping applicators, packaging machinery, presses, box erectors, compressors, pumps, motors, mixers, and ovens, handling up to 480 volts.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Work on equipment such as sauce applicators, topping applicators, packaging machinery, presses, box erectors, compressors, pumps, motors, mixers, and ovens.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Swap and replace electrical motors.
• Troubleshoot AB PLCs and work on sensors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using advanced testing equipment and tools.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as wiring, switches, relays, and circuit breakers to restore system functionality.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, conduit, electrical panels, motors, and control systems.
• Install and configure electrical components for new and existing production lines, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting.
• Experience handling up to 480 volts.
• Possession of own tools.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrical Technician, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

Work on the production floor alongside other maintenance personnel, machine operators, and general laborers. The position follows a 1st shift schedule, from 5 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime on Saturdays, totaling 50-60 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
