Job Description

Our client is seeking an Event Sales Manager in the Washington DC area. This role combines event sales, client relationship management, and on-site coordination to activate lounges, rooftops, and other communal areas. The ideal candidate will drive event bookings, manage all aspects of event execution, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, hospitality-driven experiences that build community and boost satisfaction.

Event Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Actively prospect, qualify, and close event business, including private parties, corporate functions, and social gatherings.

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat clients to drive long-term event revenue.

  • Partner with clients to understand their vision, budget, and event goals.

  • Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and event documentation.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients from initial inquiry to event completion.

  • Host walkthroughs, tastings, and planning sessions as necessary.

  • Provide on-site support during events and ensure exceptional service delivery.

  • Keep accurate records of sales activity and maintain a healthy event pipeline using CRM or booking platforms.

Event Sales Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Business, or related field-or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of event sales or event planning experience, ideally within hospitality, venues, or catering services.

  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event needs.

  • Proficiency with event or CRM software (e.g., Tripleseat, Caterease, Salesforce).

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
