Gulf Copper is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead key human resources functions and support our growing workforce. This role oversees HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and strategic initiatives across all departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work?related problems.
  2. Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  3. Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes.
  4. Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
  5. Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
  6. Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel, training, or labor relations activities of an organization.
  7. Represent organization at personnel?related hearings and investigations.
  8. Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
  9. Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations.
  10. Oversee records maintenance and compile statistical reports concerning personnel?related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  11. Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
  12. Oversee allocation of human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel.
  13. Oversee the preparation of personnel forecast to project employment needs.
  14. Stay current on Federal, state and case law changes and monitor labor law updates and newsletters for changes that affect HR.
  15. Propose, publish and administer personnel policies.
  16. Obtain bids upon renewal, confer with management regarding benefits costs, make recommendations as to employer/employee cost?sharing, perform open enrollment and benefits meetings, and process applications.
  17. Design personnel forms and direct the maintenance of personnel records by all departments.
  18. Conduct research, assimilate data and create a wage/salary scale along with managing job descriptions.
  19. Conduct needs assessment, develop training curriculum and conduct training sessions on various HR topics.
  20. Review, analyze and finalize all year?end reconciliation and compliance audits and reports.


Required Education & Experience
  1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Psychology, Education and/or commensurate experience.
  2. Five (5) years of accomplished managerial and/or supervisory experience in the private or public sector.
  3. Three to Five years Manager and/or Generalist experience in the Human Resources field.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites and HRIS.
  5. Expertise in labor law and HR best practices.
  6. Associations with National / Local HR Organization.
  7. Society of HR Management certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.


Working Conditions
  1. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.


Necessary Equipment Operation
  1. Office equipment, including telephone, fax machine, scanner, computer, printer, ten?key.
