About Us

Visalaw.ai is a cutting-edge SaaS platform that leverages AI to support immigration law firms with legal research, drafting, and practice efficiency. We specialize in delivering accurate, high-quality legal content and draft documents to help practitioners better serve their clients. Our mission is to empower immigration professionals with innovative tools while ensuring the highest level of legal integrity.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Immigration Legal Content Specialist with a strong background in U.S. immigration law, particularly in humanitarian practice areas (e.g., Asylum, VAWA, U visas, T visas, SIJS, TPS, humanitarian parole). This role is ideal for a paralegal or legal professional who is passionate about quality legal writing and research, and who can apply their expertise to reviewing and refining AI-generated drafts and legal content.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and usability of our product’s outputs, helping us deliver trustworthy legal technology to the immigration bar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and edit AI-generated draft filings, motions, cover letters, and legal content for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with immigration law requirements.
  • Provide feedback to the product team on improving the quality, tone, and utility of AI-assisted legal documents.
  • Conduct spot-check research to validate legal citations, policy references, and procedural guidance.
  • Collaborate with our engineers and legal team to improve training data and content standards.
  • Stay current with changes in humanitarian immigration law, regulations, and agency policy updates.
What We Offer
  • Flexible, part-time remote role (approx. 10–20 hours per week, with potential to grow).
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience.
  • Opportunity to shape the future of AI in immigration law.
  • Mission-driven work that supports access to justice through technology.

Requirements

  • Required:
    • Minimum 2+ years of experience as an immigration paralegal, legal assistant, or attorney, with significant exposure to humanitarian cases.
    • Strong knowledge of humanitarian immigration relief forms and processes (asylum, VAWA, U/T visas, TPS, etc.).
    • Excellent legal writing, editing, and research skills.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and remotely on a flexible, part-time schedule.

  • Preferred:
    • Prior experience reviewing or drafting immigration filings at a nonprofit, law firm, or legal aid organization.
    • Familiarity with legal technology, SaaS platforms, or AI-based tools.
    • Bilingual or multilingual skills (especially Spanish) a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay based on experience.
  • Flexible, remote schedule.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a leading immigration law blog at the intersection of law, journalism, and AI.
  • Be part of a mission-driven team shaping the future of legal technology.
