POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Administrative Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation, configuration, testing, training, ongoing support, and optimization of MEDITECH business applications, including Health Information Management (HIM), Case Management (CM), Scanning and Archiving (SCA), and Abstracting (ABS) within a multi-hospital health system. This role ensures seamless integration, data integrity, and efficient system functionality, working closely with various departments, including finance, clinical operations, and reporting teams.

This individual will play a critical role in collaborating with hospital and corporate counterparts to define and develop the structure and solutions for MEDITECH Admissions, Abstracting, and HIM applications within the HSA environment. Key responsibilities include mapping process flows, analyzing business requirements, and implementing comprehensive solutions that align with operational, financial, and regulatory standards.

** This is a fully remote position, with minimal travel required for production deployment events, periodic training sessions, and meetings. **

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and system enhancements for MEDITECH business applications, including HIM, CM, SCA, and ABS.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business units and technical teams, translating business goals into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Assist with configuration, implementation, and optimization of the organizational structure for future-state acquisitions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR), medical record standards, Release of Information (ROI) processes, scanning functionality, HIPAA regulations, and encoder interfaces.
  • Support all processes surrounding EHR maintenance, document build, and newly scanned documents housed within the EHR, including categories and subcategories.
  • Maintain expertise in encoder tools such as 3M/Solventum to support coding and data integrity functions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the Abstracting module within MEDITECH Expanse, ensuring proper functionality and reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT and HIM directors to optimize abstracting workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Support new configurations, including regulatory measure updates and report logic changes.
  • Validate abstraction rules and data mappings within MEDITECH to maintain accuracy in reporting.
  • Ensure Core Measures, CMS, and state registry data are correctly abstracted and aligned with reporting requirements.
  • Ensure MEDITECH setup supports evolving quality reporting requirements, including HEDIS, Core Measures, Sepsis protocols, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Assist with state audits, CMS validation, and survey preparation by pulling and validating abstracted data.
  • Coordinate the submission of abstracted data to external registries and agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure data integrity, system security, and adherence to financial regulations and healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors on system updates, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and testing of new functionalities to support seamless adoption of enhancements.
  • Develop and enhance user training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation to optimize system utilization across departments.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Finance, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting business applications in a healthcare or corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of MEDITECH, including HIM, CM, SCA, and ABS

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • This role is critical for ensuring smooth patient registration workflows, accurate data capture, and integration with downstream systems, including billing, clinical documentation, HIM, and scheduling.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable solutions to support decision-making.
  • Independent thinker who effectively solves problems and plans solutions while working collaboratively with others.
