Our client, a leading autonomous mobility organization, is seeking a dedicated Linux Administrator to join their dynamic team. As a Linux Administrator, you will be an integral part of the Endpoint Engineering department supporting the management and maintenance of large-scale Linux desktop environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to system management, aligning successfully with the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

Job Title: Linux Administrator

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $75 per hour

What's the Job?

• Perform Linux system installation, configuration, patching, and ongoing maintenance across physical and virtual desktops
• Implement and maintain SaltStack configurations to enforce system baselines and automate repeatable tasks
• Contribute to sprint-based engineering efforts focused on endpoint reliability, compliance, and lifecycle management
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across a large fleet of Linux systems
• Execute operational procedures for OS/software updates, re-imaging, and break/fix scenarios

What's Needed?

• 6+ years of experience supporting large-scale Linux desktop environments in production settings
• Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux, including imaging, patching, and support
• Proficient in configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
• Experience writing scripts in Bash and/or Python to automate common system tasks
• Familiarity with sprint-based or agile project work and tools like Jira for task and incident tracking
