Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine , an independent, well-regarded and busy orthopaedic practice in the Pittsburgh region, is seeking a full-time Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant . Since its inception nearly 50 years ago, the Board-Certified Tri-State physicians have offered a wide range of orthopaedic care, including sports medicine, joint replacement, and hand and foot surgery, all under one roof.
Responsibilities :
Accompany Provider into the examination room to document the patient encounter, including physical examination and other necessary medical record documentation during the visit.
Assist the Provider by entering information into the EMR as directed including proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
Locate information within the EMR for the Provider to review with patients, such as previous notes, reports, medications, x-rays, testing/lab results, and other pertinent documentation.
Complete patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
Document any office procedures performed by the Provider.
Coordinate patient care with other members of the clinical team during and after the patient visit.
Perform other tasks as required, including a variety of clinical/back-office duties, including, but not limited to rooming patients, taking/documenting medical history, postoperative care and assisting with the triage of calls from patients.
Requirements: Strong computer experience required and EMR experience preferred. Medical terminology and proficient typing skills a must. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation is crucial. Orthopaedic or medical assistant experience a plus but will train on site. Travel to all offices is required (North Hills, Seven Fields, Robinson and Fox Chapel areas).
