What You Will Do

 

  • Handles deaths occurring at UHC, and resource for other UHHS deaths
  • Responds to and documents all deaths occurring at UHC.
  • Assists with performance of Autopsies and surgicals
  • Maintains supplies and cleans Autopsy and Surg Path area

Additional Responsibilities

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Allied health related field or counseling (Preferred) or
  • 2 years of college and graduate of Mortuary School (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • 2+ years practical experience in mortuary services (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of Human anatomy (Required proficiency)
  • Typing skills, computer usage, electric or pneumatic saw and surgical instruments (Required proficiency)
