We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support the daily operations of a non-profit organization in Washington, District of Columbia. This Contract-to-permanent position involves a mix of administrative support and event coordination, playing a key role in ensuring the office runs smoothly. Responsibilities:
• Provide front desk coverage, including answering a multi-line phone system and greeting visitors professionally.
• Manage office supplies by monitoring inventory, placing orders, and restocking as needed.
• Oversee office maintenance requests and liaise with vendors for services such as equipment repairs and shredding.
• Prepare and maintain shared workspaces, ensuring they are functional and welcoming for employees.
• Organize and support departmental meetings, including scheduling, preparing materials, and managing budgets.
• Assist in the planning and execution of office events and meetings, including coordinating catering, space reservations, and logistics.
• Track event expenses to ensure they align with the allocated budget.
• Provide support for corporate suite events, including ticket distribution, parking arrangements, and catering coordination.
• Occasionally adjust work hours to accommodate early morning or evening event operations.
• Perform other administrative tasks as required to support office efficiency.• Proven experience in administrative or office support roles, including receptionist duties.
• Proficiency in using standard office equipment and basic office software.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a detail-focused demeanor.
• Experience planning and coordinating events, including handling logistics and vendor relationships.
• Capability to manage office supply inventory and place orders as needed.
• Flexibility to adjust work hours on occasion to support office operations or events.
