The Department of Psychology, in the College of Arts & Sciences, is seeking a full-time Research Associate 1 to join the laboratory of Dr. Amishi Jha engaging in neurobehavioral studies of mindfulness training in high-demand cohorts. The Research Associate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or other related field. Candidates with experience in programming and collecting data with cognitive neuroscience measures (behavioral tasks, EEG/FMRI) are highly encouraged to apply. Interest and prior experience in studies of attention and emotion regulation are preferred. Responsibilities include coordination and logistical management of research projects, experimental programming, data analysis, and data collection. The primary responsibility will be to program experiments and to collect, analyze, process, and present behavioral data. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in a team-based research environment. Knowledge of research methodology, basic statistics, and cognitive psychology or cognitive neuroscience is highly preferred. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related field, with one year of cumulative experimental psychology research experience using behavioral tasks strongly preferred. Core responsibilities include contributing to research activities by planning, coordinating, programming, collecting and analyzing data, disseminating findings, understanding and interpreting research protocols, participating in publication of research results, and ensuring research is conducted according to good research practice. Lab-specific responsibilities include programming, collection, and analysis of neurobehavioral, ERP, and fMRI data, assisting with grant reports, manuscript and presentation preparation, supporting IRB process, providing lab tutorials, reviewing work of undergraduate research assistants, lab organization and management, and offsite travel for data collection.
