Job Description

As a Security Officer - University Full Time in Redwood City, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence throughout the location. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the campus community, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to site protocols.
• Assist with access control and visitor management as required by site-specific guidelines.
• Collaborate with campus personnel and local authorities during emergency situations or drills.

• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• California Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required for positions that involve driving and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
