About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel with a focus on employment law to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of federal and state employment regulatory and compliance matters. This includes proactive counseling on issues such as hiring, leaves, wage and hour, commission compliance, disciplinary actions, and termination. The role also involves the development and implementation of employment law-related policies and training, as well as staying up-to-date on new employment laws to ensure the company's compliance in a business-friendly manner. In addition to employment law, the Senior Corporate Counsel will manage intellectual property matters, particularly trademarks, in collaboration with outside counsel. Applicants for the Senior Corporate Counsel position should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, be admitted to the California Bar, and have at least 4 years of combined top law firm and/or in-house experience, with a strong background in California employment law. The role requires a professional with superior problem-solving skills, legal judgment, and the ability to interact with senior executives. The ideal candidate will be a team player, highly organized, and possess a collaborative approach to legal problem-solving. While not mandatory, prior in-house experience, trademark experience, and a background in a healthcare company are preferred. The company values a diverse and inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer.
