Creighton University's Health Sciences Campus Standardized Patient Program Creighton University's Health Sciences Campus offers simulation-based training across six healthcare programs, utilizing Standardized Patients (SP) for clinical encounters, physical exams, and more. Role of Standardized Patients: SPs portray patients in educational simulations, recreating physical characteristics, memorizing medical histories, and performing physical exams. They are also trained to give feedback on communication skills, significantly impacting students' educational experiences and providing rewarding interactions. Training and Events: SPs attend mandatory training sessions, which may be held in person or via Zoom. Most simulation events are in-person at the Werner Health Sciences Center, 2616 Burt Street, Omaha, NE, with some virtual sessions. Position Details: This is a temporary, part-time role with flexible hours, primarily Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm. The position is not benefits-eligible. Minimum Requirements: Meet specific patient criteria for cases, welcoming diverse backgrounds and abilities. Be punctual for events and training sessions. Maintain timely communication via phone, email, and in person. With training, provide constructive feedback in written and verbal formats. Memorize patient physical characteristics and histories.
