Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a GA or compact license and strong pediatric to geriatric ER skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a small hospital Emergency Department with 14 beds
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Epic EMR and Pyxis medication management systems are used; Epic experience required
• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM schedule
• Every other weekend is required
• May float to a nearby main campus ER located approximately 3 miles away
• No on-call responsibilities
• Ambulance services are on site 24/7 for higher acuity transfers
• Wound care is managed virtually and no IV team is available
• Orientation includes sessions at the main campus about 3 miles away
• Compliance required for timely start; non-compliance may delay start by two weeks
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Expectations to work holidays based on assignment timing: one holiday if it falls during assignment, both if two fall, two of three if three fall
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed; no RTO during the first week
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift and unit
• Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year to return as traveler
• Candidates previously deemed ineligible at Piedmont must successfully complete an assignment elsewhere before returning

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR and Spacelabs monitoring equipment required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Must provide two supervisory references for consideration
