Job Details

• Administers and directs support staff to administer patient treatment as prescribed by a physician.
• Participates in programs to enhance the quality of patient care and other department functions.
• Provides mentorship to new employees and student clinical instruction.
• Responsible for 100% patient care and performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
• Performs evaluation and establishes treatment plans based on age specific, cultural, and rehabilitative needs in compliance with hospital licensing and accreditation standards and Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Provides effective therapy treatments.
• Delegates patient treatment procedures and modalities appropriately.
• Provides safe and comprehensive discharge planning.
• Meets department standards for individual productivity.
• Provides thorough, timely, professional, and consistent patient care documentation.
• Documents evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries per department policies.
• Provides clear documentation for missed treatments and gaps in treatment.
• Demonstrates competency in utilizing all reports to manage caseload proactively.
• Utilizes resources to assist with patient flow.
• Provides effective education and mentoring for student interns.
• Participates in special department programs.
• Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and coordination to maximize patient outcomes.
• Communicates positively and appropriately with patients, co-workers, supervisors, other departments, and physicians.
• Completes annual health, safety, compliance reviews and department/hospital specific requirements.
• Reports unsafe conditions and adheres to safety and compliance policies.
• Understands importance of reporting on-the-job injuries.
• Wears identification badge at all times.
• Accepts responsibility for own work and develops trust and credibility.
• Maintains sound judgment and reasoning.
• Treats co-workers as teammates and supports team decisions.
• Monitors own work to ensure quality and participates in continuous quality improvement.

Job Requirements

• Successful completion of curriculum and internship.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Basic Physical Therapy skills.
• College level writing and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and ability to administer all department modalities, programs, and protocols appropriate to the age of the patients serviced.
• Requires effective communication skills in dealing with patients, families, and co-workers.
