Description
Qualified candidates will be responsible, but not limited to the proper cleaning measures
of Colorado Department of Transportation Bustang Outrider buses as well as Road
Runner Transit owned buses.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate, or be able to
learn proper use of company provided cleaning and sanitation equipment. Proper storage
of cleaning agents and or chemicals will be followed by local, state and federal
guidelines.
Qualified candidates will be required to move buses and/or shuttle buses on or off
company property, and be able to back and park buses into garages or tight spaces.
May be required to work a flexible schedule (which may include weekends/late
evenings), proper PPE will be issued, as well as proper use of the PPE to applicable
employees. A CDL Class B license will elevate the position and is preferable, but not
required.
The building maintenance position will include various duties: Knowledge of building
safety practices. Experience of skilled or semi-skilled building maintenance and
warehouse procedures. Safe use of basic hand and power tools including drill, saw,
ladders, power washer etc. May work indoor and/or outdoors in inclement weather,
including snow removal. Also, perform repairs and finish work, painting etc. on building
projects. Work to insure the building is in good repair and has a neat well-kept
professional appearance. Help maintain a safe, clean work area. Willing to perform other
tasks assigned by the supervisor.
JOB DUTIES
Qualified candidates will be required to perform the following duties:
1. Have experience in general repair and building maintenance.
2. Wash and clean the exterior of buses.
3. Wash and clean the interior including walls, seats, and floor surfaces.
4. Clean and sanitize the lavatory if equipped.
5. Sterilize high touch/traffic areas such as handrails, doors, windows etc.
6. Check and restock any required PPE items that the buses are required to
have per CDOT/Road Runner policy and guidelines.
7. Report any abuse or misuse of any company buses and or property.
8. Properly clean and use required cleaning agents for their intended purposes.
9. Proper use of brushes, hoses, water and applicable practices.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license, CDL Class B preferred.
• Mechanic experience with gas and diesel engine and routing maintenance preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen; must pass criminal history.
• Must be able to relate to and work well with associates and the public; work
references will be required.
• Must be physically able to perform all duties of the job and pass a physical exam
every year. Position occasionally performs heavy physical labor requiring ability to
lift, carry, push, pull and move heavy objects or materials. Physical demand for
strength and endurance; requires lifting over 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Preference may be given to qualifying local applicants familiar with the town of Ignacio, Bayfield and surrounding areas.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, orally, and in written
format.
Ability to prepare reports,
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including the ability to recognize
situations in which confidentiality is required.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public. Must work
independently, with minimum of supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds may be required.
Adequate hearing is required to hear/talk with all individuals, and to use
telephones on a consistent basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
Frequent communication with employees and others on a daily basis, including
telephone, text, email as well as face-to-face interaction.
