The Driver will operate container delivery truck and ancillary equipment on an assigned route to service customers by delivering and removing solid waste dumpster containers in a safe and efficient manner. Deliver the collected solid waste to disposal site. Key Responsibilities include operating container delivery truck and on-board hydraulic systems, completing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports, communicating vehicle mechanical problems, maintaining route quality standards, positioning containers safely, following all safety standards and regulations, maintaining clean vehicle, wearing required personal protective equipment, reporting accidents or incidents, maintaining accurate service records, working overtime if required, attending safety and branch meetings, and performing other duties as requested by management. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED desired, valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), minimum one year commercial truck driving experience or CDL school certificate, ability to meet safety sensitive function criteria, and ability to safely drive truck and operate equipment. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include effective communication, ability to read and comprehend documents and maps, follow instructions, adapt to change, exert physical effort to lift and carry objects, coordinate limbs, and follow safety policies. Physical and mental demands include ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, smell, and visual requirements for driving. Ability to lift/move various weights regularly and work in loud conditions. Working conditions include exposure to loud noise, weather extremes, mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, outdoor environment, motor vehicle traffic, and occasional work in high places.
