Job Summary:

We are hiring motivated and hard-working experienced Wash Plant/Equipment Operators for day and night shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our sand washing plant and mine. You will monitor equipment, perform daily inspections, and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations. Experience in operating dozers & loaders is required.

Occasional duties will involve handling heavy equipment such as skid steers, dozers, and loaders.

Our facilities are located in Bainville, MT along Hwy 2, close to the Montana/North Dakota border.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Previous experience in operating dozers & loaders.
• Operate and monitor wash plant equipment, including screens, pumps, and conveyors to process raw sand and remove impurities.
• Adjust equipment settings to optimize the washing process and ensure the final product meets quality specifications.
• Carry out daily inspections of equipment to identify and address any issues or malfunctions.
• Conduct routine preventative, and emergency maintenance.
• Monitor water usage and chemical applications to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize waste.
• Maintain accurate records of production quantities, quality control metrics and maintenance activities.
• Utilize various equipment, hand and power tools.
• Maintain and repair machinery as needed to ensure safety and efficiency; unplugs and shovels off conveyors and screens; changes out screens, rollers, cone liners, etc.; greases moving machine parts.
• Performs machinery set up and take downs which include, but not limited to, running cables and hoses, setting up blocks, assembling/disassembling machinery, operating skid steer to move parts, tarping, shoveling, etc.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions.
• Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup/shutdown procedures.
• Assist with construction projects and other tasks as needed.
• Prioritize safety guidelines and comply with MSHA standards at all times.
• Perform daily workplace examinations and job site clean-ups; keeps machinery area clean of debris.
• Participates in training and safety programs to gain skills and knowledge of wash plant operations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanically inclined with general knowledge of hand tools.
• Effective communication skills with ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Basic math skills for simple calculations.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and handling physical labor.
• Ability to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above shoulders; perform manual tasks, use hands to signal and operate equipment; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 lbs.; do tasks like shoveling and climbing ladders/stairs.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, 8-12-hour shifts, days or nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call, if needed.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a plant environment with dust, noise, and fluctuating temperatures.
• Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
